Dont know if this a bad thing or a good thing but most of my New Years eve is being spent gluing up a neck for a steel string and padding shellac onto a classical. There are hobbies and then there are obsessions...

11 hours to go here, though I generally take December 21st as being the start of the new year, when we have the shortest day and the nights start getting shorter. The old festival of the mid-winter solstice. The old festivals are best. Colin

Ron that's hillarious Happy New Year everyone. My wife and I don't really ever do anything on New Years Eve, she is not a night owl, so I will most likly be in the shop or watching a movie etc.....

Happy New Year all! We have a large group organized for a gathering at a friends restaurant in the Niagara Falls area then the Niagara Casino till 3 am'ish. (Note to self: pack the Ibuprofen) Lillian ... that's a lovely poem.

The idea was to begin the year as you wished to live the year... to be a student of the arts. Of course with family now my life is different but I alway try to make at least a token attempt at guitar building activities on new years eve/new years day. My best wishes to you all for the new year.

Love that philosophy Ronn, when midnight comes, i usually stand alone and make my wishes for the New Year but i sure will be in my shop tomorrow to prepare for an excellent lutherie year! Lillian, that was really nice, thank you!

Well at least have some long greens so you will have plenty of money. Actually I'm going to start a new tradition this year and have some pork loin as well....I want to live high on the hog. Yeah, I may eat 8 or 10 pounds of greens. BTW, I love pork loin, but it's not very high on the hog. Might try some shoulder. Ron

Happy New Year everyone I really appreciate all the knowledge everyone has laid down on me here at the OLF in 2006! I have soaked up alot of it, and alot of it has spilled over the side of my ears, and ran away unfortunately - so Ill have to ask a great many more questions in 2007 as I embark upon my building expedition, imminently.{-2pts sp?} Thanks to the Admins and Mods here as well for affording us all a place to absorb luthiery know how! Thanks Lance and Brock, and everyone here who donates time effort and materials for all the kind hearted projects and auctions. Thanks to the Sponsors who provide all the sweet zoot, tools jigs plans and instructional materials, upon which we rely. Thanks to all the friends I have made here, for thier support and help along the way! I will be a year member in March, and hopefully many more with all of you here at the best luthiery resource on the net, I wanted to become a member last year but was unable.... but I definitely will this coming year....... There is certainly no other website I frequent that deserves the support more than the OLF. Cheers Charliewood
